Harveys Sherry Club & Tutoring Evenings

 

SHERRY IS MADE FROM THE JUICE OF WHITE GRAPES, GROWN ON THE GENTLE HILLS AROUND JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA IN THE SOUTH-WEST OF SPAIN...

Sherry is a fortified wine, blended and aged in wood. The wines of previous years are blended together by a unique method known as the solera system. In this way, sherries of all varieties are made from the very dry to the very sweet.

At Harveys Cellars we are pleased to offer an extensive range of Harveys Sherry products.

Harveys Bristol Cream was famously created in these cellars in the 1880s by John Harvey II and his brother Edward. An aristrocratic lady visiting the cellars to collect her Harveys Bristol Milk was offered to taste a new blend. She commented that “if that is Milk then this is Cream” and that is how the name originates!

We are also pleased to offer the exceptional Harveys VORS Range (Vinum Optimum Rare Signatum or Very Old Rare Sherries).

These have been certified by CRDO for over 30 years and are of outstanding quality. Harveys Fino is a superior dry sherry of a light and pallid colour and is excellent as an aperitif.

Our tapas dishes are carefully selected to enhance your chosen drink and will not be over-powered by the cooking or the flavour of the food as we believe that sherry and food should be complimentary and enhance one another.

Join us for a sherry tutoring evening where we will tell you more about the interesting art of sherry making, the history behind the cellars and where you can try the specially paired tapas to match each individual sherries that we offer.

After a warm welcome with the Harveys Cellars Signature Serve Aperitif we will be matching the following Harveys sherries and tapas:

Fino with Roasted Almonds and Marinated Olives;
Fine Old Amontillado and Palo Cortado with Salt Cod Croquettes & Romesco Sauce and Spanish Meatballs or a vegetarian option of Onion & Red Pepper Tortilla and Piqullio Peppers stuffed with cream cheese;
Rich Old Oloroso with Spanish Cheese, Quince Jelly served with Fig & Almond cake; and
Pedro Ximinez with Vanilla Ice-cream drizzed in PX and Chocolate Brownie served with PX cream
